It follows naturally that with all the BLM and Antifa violence visited on historic statues of Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and others, misfortunately placed in cities that are no longer America, that a famous patriotic monument carving in Indian country would be targeted for similar fate. They’d have done it already. It’s just harder to reach.
NDN Collective, (website here) a richly funded and powerful radical leftist political NGO headquartered in Rapid City, South Dakota openly talks about destroying Mount Rushmore. Tearing it down. Oh, and they want all land owned by people of European descent to be given back to “indigenous” tribes. They call it “Decolonization,” and “Landback.” You and I would call it, grand theft.
“Mount Rushmore is on stolen Lakota land its very existence is a symbol of white supremacy” says Nick Tilsen, NDN Collective President and CEO. “In opposing the ongoing desecration of our sacred land and asking for return of Lakota lands where Mount Rushmore is situated, we’re not saying anything that our parents, grandparents and great grandparents haven’t already said– The Lakota have opposed Mount Rushmore since the very beginning.”
Turns out, NDN Collective recently received $100-million in federal taxpayer dollars as part of the Inflation Reduction Act. Money they apparently get to use to burn American flags outside the DNC Convention in Chicago, fly “Fuck the Police” flags in local parades, scale grain elevators and desecrate the American flag on the 4th of July, scream “Death to America,” with Pro-Hamas and Pro-Hezbollah student protest groups and advocate for destroying the Shrine of Democracy, Mount Rushmore, that’s visited by more than 2-million visitors a year, in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Anti-American activity funded by Americans. Go figure.
